Emer Hatchett (Abigail - Day 11)2/26/2020 We saw “The Fall of the Second Republic” tonight at the Abbey Theater. I liked it - as a friend said, it’s no National Theater (of England, she meant), but I still liked it a lot. It was relevant to Ireland itself, which is the mission of the National Theater of Ireland. The story took place in the 1970’s, which was reflected by the audience in the house. I didn’t know nearly enough about 70’s Ireland to get all of the funny quips. My favorite part was Emer Hatchett (fantastic name), the badass leading lady who was determined to take matters into her own hands and expose the truth no matter what. I adored her. Megan told me that she saw me in this character, and I’m still smiling about it.
