5 national parks  |  2 borders  |  0 boundaries

Galloway Goes West: Planes, Trains, + Automobiles is all about experiencing the beauty of the United States.  We'll travel nearly the entire width of the country from east to west as well as the entire span of the US from south to north.  And though we will be quite active, plan for slow, immersive travel that will challenge our understanding of the land we call home.

We will start on a plane, flying from Atlanta to New Orleans.

Then we will take the Amtrak Sunset Limited sightseeing train to Tucson, Arizona, enjoying views only accessible via rail.

From Tucson, we'll hop in our vans and head to Grand Canyon National Park, stopping to take in the views in and around Phoenix and north on the Mogollon Rim.

Once at the Grand Canyon, we will spend the night on the South Rim before hiking down into the center of the canyon and spending the night at Phantom Ranch.

We'll hike out of the basin the next morning and drive to Arches National Park for a guided backcountry hike.

From Arches, we will head to Grand Teton National Park, hiking and fly fishing from the Tetons through Yellowstone National Park.

From there, we will drive to Glacier National Park, on the US-Canada border, where we'll stay in canvas tents and, if we are lucky, catch some of the last Northern Lights of the 2017 season before flying back to Atlanta.

12 days to change your view of your world and of your self
