Backstage Comforts (Mika, Day 3)

My mind is in a haze. My feet trip as the world around me spins, and I sink as I long for familiarity. I find it in the theater. Not in the acting, but the technicalities. The smell of paint and plywood calms my nerves, as my mind settles on focusing on the mechanics of it all. This has been my home for as long as I can remember - backstage, behind the scenes, never the face of a project, but one of the people making sure it works - in show and in life. I miss leaning into that.
